From stand-up to improv to sketch comedy, a range of humor featuring both emerging and established comedians perform at The Kennedy Center. To market the Comedy genre, the programming team wanted to create a fresh look distinct from other classical genres at the Center. The new direction pulled inspiration from vintage JFK political posters: desaturated reds/pinks, blues, off-whites; aged textures; stars, sunbursts, angles, buttons. For the special annual comedy showcase RIOT! Funny Women Stand-Up, I paired a custom illustration with handwritten elements to create a loud, bold, raw look and feel.
